Jeff Lee Manthos Sanctus Seraphin (Santo Serafin) Copy 1994
This award-winning fine violin from Jeff Manthos took the silver medal at the 1994 VSA competition and won a gold medal for tone at the same competition. A copy of a Sanctus Seraphin (Santo Serafin) 1743 violin, Manthos built this violin with the Venetian maker's typical individualized approach to instruments.
This fine violin is in pristine condition and represents a chance to own an exceptional, professional-level instrument by an award-winning luthier. Its tone is incredibly even and complex, with a beautiful warmth in the lower register that lends this violin the character of a chamber instrument. At the same time, it projects well with a rich, full sound.
Features:
- 1-piece maple back with narrow, faint flame
- 2-piece belly of fine, narrow-grain spruce
- Golden red varnish over golden yellow ground
- 353 mm body length, upper bout 167 mm, center bout 114 mm, lower bout 205 mm
