Duo Recital: Jonathan Leviim and Tatyana Okhotina

Sunday, November 18, 2018 3 PM – 4:30 PM

World-class virtuoso musicians coming to Vancouver: Violinist JONATHAN LEVIIM and Russian-American pianist Tatyana Okhotin.

Violinist Jonathan Leviim has performed on every continent and in over 70 countries, with all the major orchestras, and with many leading chamber musicians. He performs with great passion and warmth, and with breathtaking technique. This concert is a unique opportunity to experience the brilliant sound of the violin at the hands of a maestro, in an informal, friendly and spontaneous atmosphere.

Russian-American pianist Tatyana Okhotina integrates the musical influences of her native Russia and new adopted homeland of the USA in her playing. Having studied with Elena Vozheiko-Wheaton in Vancouver, Washington and Harold Gray at Portland State University, she returned to Russia to continue her studies with professor Victor Stolov of Kazan Conservatory and Margarita Fedorova of the Moscow Conservatory. She strongly believes in the importance of developing an interest and love of classical music in underprivileged communities and spends much of her time volunteering for this cause.

Tickets are $25 prior to the event and $30 at the door. Don't miss this spectacular event!

NW Quartet Fest

The NW Quartet Fest is a non-profit event aimed at celebrating NW small group ensembles. Musicians of all ages, genres, and instrumentations are invited to apply to be a part of this exciting event. Each selected ensemble will be given a 20 minute performance slot. Applications are due by October 20th, and selections will be made by October 31st.

100% of ticket proceeds goes straight to the local musicians, and raising money for local school music programs. Kennedy Violins will match the ticket funds in instrument donations, giving away much needed instruments to local schools in need.

Returning for it's second year, Kennedy Violins is happy to host the NW Quartet Fest! If you are interested in participating as a performer in this years' Quartet fest, please reach out!

Immerse yourself in the intimate sounds of quartet music! From classical to Irish to pop to jazz, the NW Quartet Fest celebrates music of all genres performed in a small group setting. The tradition of quartet music was born in the parlors of hosted homes, bringing people in the community together to share and enjoy the music of their time. At The NW Quartet Fest take a moment to dance among the reverberating wooden instruments, and sip on the sweet taste of local quartet sounds!

The all ages fun will feature exciting local music all day, paint your own violin to take home, instrument petting zoo, free BBQ, and a raffle for a brand new violin!
