This fine violin is labeled Hawkes and Sons, 28 Leicester Sq, London, 1902 (registered 1895). According to four expert sources the violin is French-made.It is the top-tier model marketed by the British firm. This 4/4-size violin is gold in color, has a beautifully heavily-flamed two-piece back, with a very nice, very rich tone. This would be an excellent choice for a solo instrument.
Violin has been professionally set by luthier Al Farulo.
