Fine Carlo Bergonzi copy labeled "Anno 1757 Carlo Bergonzi fece in Cremonne" with an exceptionally powerful and brilliant tone. This violin features boxwood fittings and a golden-colored varnish which darkens around the C bouts. Nicely flamed woods and a beautiful patina make this violin quite the eye-catcher! This violin is a German-made copy of a violin by Carlo Bergonzi made in 1757, and was likely constructed in the latter half of the 19th century.
This violin is currently set up with Evah Pirazzi strings and has a medium to slightly high action, but it projects beautifully and is easy to play. This violin would make a fantastic violin for someone who needs to lead a first violin section or play solos. It would also be ideal for a bluegrass fiddler who needs to rise above the band to be heard.
