This violin from maker Alvaro Escalante was made in 1988, and is in fantastic condition. Alvaro Escalante makes violins in the Cremonese tradition and this Strad model could be confused for an Italian violin. It has a very rich orange/amber finish with beautiful transparency. It has a well flamed two piece back, and a very evenly tight grained spruce top. It's well setup with really nice ebony fittings, and is very easy to play. Its tone is even and resonant. These violins normally sell well above this price, but the seller is motivated to sell.
Features:
- Resonant and even tone
- 2 piece flamed maple back
- Nice ebony fittings
