About Ellie Kennedy
Meet the Artist
Ellie Kennedy started playing violin when she was five, receiving her first lessons with her father, Joel Kennedy.
Ellie is the concertmaster of the San Antonio Youth Philharmonic and has won multiple first-place prizes in competitions such as the American String Teachers Association (ASTA), Great Composers International Competition (GCC), and the Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC).
She won the 2021 Youth Orchestras of San Antonio (YOSA) Concerto Competition and was invited to perform the first movement of the Barber Violin Concerto with the San Antonio Youth Philharmonic at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts.
She has also held the concertmaster position of the TMEA Texas All State Symphony Orchestra and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute (BUTI) Young Artists Orchestra. In the summer of 2023, Ellie attended the Heifetz International Music Institute, and is currently enrolled in the Cleveland Institute of Music.
